Community Living York South and DD Community Connector will host our first personal income tax clinic.

We have several tax professionals volunteer to help participants understanding the details of preparing their income tax properly. The following are their bios:
Ricky Mak, CPA, CA
Ricky Mak is an experienced Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a power and utilities company in Toronto. Ricky obtained his International Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Schulich School of Business, York University. He began his career at Ernst and Young LLP in the assurance practice and obtained his CPA, CA designation in 2014. Ricky has audit and financial analysis experience in technology, manufacturing, retail/wholesale and power and utilities industries. He is hoping to use his experience to help other community members.
Eric Yip, CPA, CMA
Eric is a professional fund accountant with over 10 years of experience within the financial industry. Eric is dedicated to help raise awareness about developmental disability to a wider audiences.
Catherine Leung, CMA
Catherine has been in the fund administration industry for 9 years. Being a part of the DD community connector tax clinic, she is looking to utilize her accounting knowledge to help those in need.
Susan Shu is a Senior Tax Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She has been with the firm’s corporate tax group for 3 years, assisting various clients in industries such as retail and consumer products, technology and entertainment, mining, as well as real estate. Through her personal tax rotation within the firm as well as various tax clinic experiences, she has also obtained extensive knowledge in the area of personal taxes. By being part of the DD community connector tax clinic, she is hoping to use her expertise to give back to the community.
Janice Woo, MAcc
Janice Woo is a Senior Tax Analyst at Deloitte and has experience with tax return preparation and tax planning in the High Net Worth personal tax practice, and is currently practicing in the Business Tax department.
Chloe Ho, CPA, CA, MAcc
Chloe Ho is a co-founder and treasurer of DD Community Connector. She has been a passionate volunteer for over 10 years working closely with various not for profit organizations and particularly in the community of people with developmental disabilities. She is a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP working with various clients in the utilities, mining, manufacturing and service industries. She has previously participated in a charity tax clinic and specialized in personal and international tax planning during her Masters.
Ning Yi is a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and has experience in the utilities and mining industries. She plays an active role at Free the Children as part of the leadership team and is currently a Sick Kids ambassador. She previously volunteered at a tax clinic and looks forward to using her knowledge to give back to the community.
Nana Mohan Zhou is a senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She has been with the firm’s assurance group for 3 years assisting with various clients in industries such as energy, mining, utilities, and construction. She is hoping to give back to the community by being part of the DD community connector tax clinic.
WHAT TO BRING?
- All tax slips for receipts of income
- All receipts for expenses
- All receipts for medical and disability support expenses
- Certification(s) from medical practitioner(s) where applicable
- 2015 tax return
- of 3 individuals per family including person with disabilities
- Limited to regular filers (no businesses, small businesses, self-employed individuals or corporations)
- 8 documents captioned documents per filer
- $25 per individual tax return
- Every individual that file a tax return will get a ballet to enter into a draw for 2 prizes of $100 gift cards
- All fees will be used towards upcoming Community Living York South or DD Community Connector initiatives and events
